OMAN’S INFORMATION MINISTER ARRIVES IN CAIRO

       Cairo, 4 Rabiul Awwal 1434/ 16 January 2013 (MINA) – Dr. Abdel Munim bin Mansoor al-Hassani, Minister of Information and his accompanying delegation arrived cairo on Monday (14/1) to participate in the meetings of the 44th session of the Arab Ministers of Information Council due on Tuesday (15/1) at the headquarters of the Arab League. 

 

       He and his accompanying delegation was received by Salah Abdel Maqsoud, Egyptian Minister of Information and a number of senior officials of the Egyptian Ministry of Information, Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali al-Harthy, Sultanate’s Ambassador to Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League and Salim bin Said al-Habsi, Media Attaché.

       The session will discuss 16 items dealing with various issues of joint Arab information action, including the finding a mechanism to prevent jamming of Arab satellite, according to Oman News Agency (ONA) report monitored by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA).

 

       This session also to follow up the implementation of the Arab Summit resolutions and Arabic League Council at the ministerial level in the field of information and to follow up the implementation of the new plan of the Arab information abroad and how Arab media support the Palestinian cause. 

 

       The delegation accompanying the Minister includes Ali bin Khalfan al-Jabri, Information Ministry Undersecretary, Hood al-Alawi, External Media Director and Dr. Mohammed al-Araimi, Acting Editor-in-Chief of ONA and a number of Ministry officials. (T/R-019/R-006)
