National Silat Exponent Stopped from Meeting Media

Jakarta, MINA — A national silat exponent competing in the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games was prevent from speaking to the media until the appropriate time.

The decision was made to enable the national athlete to concentrate fully on his fight and mission to deliver three gold, two silver and five bronze medals set by the Malaysian National Silat Federation (PESAKA).

“We have a major mission here and so today we do not want the national silat exponent to speak to the media. Our intention is enable our athletes keep their focus,” said team officer Mohamad Mat Amin here today.

He met Malaysian media at Padepokan Pencak Silat Taman Mini Indonesia Indah which is the official venue for silat events in the Asiad.

Earlier, efforts by Bernama to obtain the reaction of national silat champion, Mohd Al-Jufferi Jamari who began competition in the Putra E class top 16 round, failed after the 2016 world champion was called into the national silat camp. (T/RS5/RS1)
