Moscow Invitation to Hezbollah Has Special Meaning

Beirut, MINA – Lebanese Parliamentarian from Hezbollah block, Ali Fayyad visited Moscow to participate in the International Security Conference held on April 23-25, Nahar Net reported.

The invitation of Russian government to Hezbollah has a special meaning, Lebanese Daily Al-Joumhouria said on Wednesday.

The daily said Fayyad’s presence in Moscow has a special meaning because this is not the first time. Moscow has invited Hezbollah participated in a conference on security issues, reflecting interest of Russian leaders in the role of Hezbollah at regional and local levels.

Russia and Lebanon’s Hezbollah are two Syria’s allies in fighting rebellion of Arab country.

Moscow’s “positive signal” towards Hezbollah was also reflected when Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov received Fayyad after a meeting was scheduled for only half an hour.

Al-Joumhouria said that both of them held comprehensive discussions about the situation in Lebanon and Middle East, including about the crisis of displaced people in Lebanon and so-called “This Century Agreement” belonging to the US President. (T/Sj/P2)
