Lebanon, MINA – Israeli warplanes and artillery struck areas of southern Lebanon on Friday, while Israeli drones flew at low altitude over Beirut, the coastal city of Tyre, and surrounding areas, according to Lebanese state media.
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that Israeli fighter jets targeted the vicinity of Ali al-Taher hill on the outskirts of Nabatieh al-Fawqa in Nabatieh district. Intermittent artillery shelling was also reported near Zawtar al-Sharqiya in the same district before noon.
In Kfar Shouba, in the Hasbaya district, an Israeli drone dropped a stun grenade in the Khallet Zuhair area on the outskirts of the town, the agency reported.
Israeli forces also carried out a large explosion overnight in an area between Zawtar al-Sharqiya and Kfar Tebnit in Nabatieh district. In the Marjayoun district, Israeli forces continued setting fire to wooded areas in Qantara toward the Salouqi area, according to the report.

The reported attacks came after two days of US-sponsored technical military talks between Lebanon and Israel that began Tuesday in Florida. No outcomes from the discussions had been announced at the time of reporting.
The latest incidents underscore continuing tensions despite diplomatic efforts to implement a framework agreement mediated by the United States. The agreement, reached on June 26, provides for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory under occupation in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army and the disarmament of armed groups.
Implementation has reportedly remained limited. The framework’s pilot-zone approach has been applied in three southern Lebanese towns—Froun, Srifa, and Zawtar al-Gharbiya—while more than 50 towns remain under Israeli occupation, according to the background report.
Israeli military operations have continued amid the dispute over the agreement’s implementation. Figures cited in the report put the death toll from Israeli attacks since March 2 at at least 4,386, with 12,407 people injured and more than one million displaced.

Lebanese authorities and human rights organizations have called for the full implementation of the agreement and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory. Continued airstrikes, artillery fire, and drone activity have added to concerns over the durability of diplomatic efforts and the risk of further escalation.[]
