MINOR EARTHQUAKE HITS AL-QUDS AND DEAD SEA

        Al-Quds, 6 Dhul Qaida 1434/12 September 2013 (MINA) – An earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale was felt in Jerusalem and on the northern edge of the Dead Sea early Thursday, according to the Israeli radio.

        Earth Sciences and Seismic Engineering Center(ESSEC) at Al-Najah National University said that the quake struck the area of Dead Sea with a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale, Gazan Al-Ray reported as quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA).

        Head of the ESSEC Jalal Dabbeek told our correspondent that the tremor occurred at a depth of 18-51 km in the ground and its epicenter was 13 kilometers southern-east Jericho and 45 km south-west of Amman.
