Lebanon, MINA – The Israeli occupation military launched what it described as the “largest” coordinated strike since the start of its current offensive in Lebanon, hitting more than 100 sites “within 10 minutes” across multiple areas on Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reports.

According to a military statement, the attacks targeted Hezbollah-related sites in Beirut, the Beqaa Valley, and southern Lebanon. The army claimed the targets included command-and-control centers and other infrastructure used to launch attacks against Israeli targets.

There was no immediate comment from Hezbollah regarding the Israeli claim.

Lebanese media reported that at least eight people were killed and 22 others wounded in an Israeli strike targeting the southern Lebanese city of Sidon on Wednesday, following the announcement of a truce.

The massive wave of strikes came just hours after the United States and Iran announced a two-week truce on Tuesday, aimed at paving the way for a final agreement to end a war that began on February 28. The conflict, launched by Washington and Tel Aviv against Tehran, has left thousands dead and wounded.

Pakistani mediators involved in the truce negotiations said the ceasefire includes Lebanon. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that it does not. Despite the conflicting statements and continued Israeli strikes, Hezbollah has so far adhered to the ceasefire.

Israel has carried out airstrikes and a ground offensive in southern Lebanon since a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2, despite a previous ceasefire that took effect in November 2024.

Lebanese authorities said that at least 1,530 people have been killed and 4,812 others injured in Israeli attacks since the current escalation began.[]
