ISRAELI OCCUPATION FORCES, SETTLERS RAID AL-TUWANI VILLAGE

         Hebron, 4 Dzulhijjah 1434/8 October 2013 (MINA) – Israeli occupation forces raided the Hebron village of al-Tuwani late Sunday and ransacked people’s homes, locals said.

        Israel occupation forces raided the main mosque in the village and residents’ sheep stables, firing stun grenades.

        No detentions were recorded, according to Occupied Palestine report monitored by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA).

       According to locals, Zionist settlers had earlier raided the village and also ransacked Palestinian houses and barns.

        An Israeli occupation army spokeswoman contacted by Ma’an was not aware of the incident.

         More than 500,000 Zionist settlers live in settlements across the West Bank and East Jerusalem, in contravention of international law.

         The internationally recognized Palestinian territories, of which the West Bank and East Jerusalem, form a part have been occupied by the Israeli military since 1967.

         The Israeli military frequently protects Israeli settlers who target Palestinians. Additionally, Israeli forces often target those Palestinians who respond to settler attacks.(T/P08/E1)
