Hebron, MINA – Israeli occupation forces demolished homes and sheep pens on Tuesday in the Khirbet al-Fakheit community in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, injuring several Palestinians with tear gas, Wafa reports.
Local sources reported that Israeli forces demolished 10 homes and animal shelters in the northern part of the community, including tin structures, sheds, and sheep pens belonging to the families of Samir al-Hamamdeh, Issa Ismail al-Hamamdeh, and Hisham Ismail al-Hamamdeh.
The forces also assaulted residents and fired tear gas canisters at them, causing several people to suffer from suffocation.
The sources added that Israeli forces destroyed water tanks, sanitation units, and solar panels providing electricity to the community, and filled in a water well.

Masafer Yatta is a cluster of Palestinian communities located in the southern West Bank, east of Hebron. The area has been designated by Israel as a closed military zone and is regularly subjected to demolition orders, displacement operations, and settlement expansion.
According to human rights organizations, Israel’s policies in Masafer Yatta are part of a broader strategy to displace Palestinian communities and seize their land for settlement expansion and military purposes.
The demolition campaign in Khirbet al-Fakheit is part of a widespread pattern of forced displacement in the area.
Israeli occupation authorities have issued demolition orders against homes and structures in the community, claiming they were built without permits, which are nearly impossible for Palestinians to obtain in Area C of the West Bank, which is under full Israeli military and administrative control.

Human rights groups, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, have documented how these demolitions are part of a systematic effort to displace Palestinian communities and create a contiguous area for settlement expansion.[]
