Indonesian Hijab Journalist Community Commemorates World Hijab Day

Jakarta, MINA – Indonesian Hijab Journalist Community (KJB) on Saturday, held a celebration of the World Hijab Day (WHD) with the theme “The Power of Muslimah” at the Cut Meutia Mosque, Jakarta.

“We can make this event a place to share stories and find out that actually hijab is not an obstacle,” said Fleuri Paramita Aprianti, CEO of Fleure International.

According to Paramita, Hijab is not a burden for Muslim women but it is a guidance and trust that Muslimah must be proud of it.

“Whatever we carry out both our business or career, we must be proud of hijab,” she added.

Besides Paramita, the event was attended by Maria Ulfah, Chair of the Indonesian Mosque Council for the Development of Potential of Women and Children, as well as the Trifty Qurrota Aini Brand Ambassador (WHD) and Professional Henna Dewi Mashitoh.

The event was attended by around 100 participants, consisting of various groups.

One participant, Amilah Rahmatunnisa (20) said, this activity was enough to add insight and motivate.

He hopes that WHD can continue to be held and socialized so that it can motivate and inspire other women who have not been hijab.

Previously, WHD was also commemorated in several countries such as New York, Bangladesh, the Philippines and several other countries.

WHD was founded by Nazma Khan and celebrated for the first time in 2013.

In 2017, it became a non-profit organization, with the mission of combating discrimination against Muslim women through awareness and education. (T/Sj/P2)
