INDONESIAN GOVERNMENT ISSUES THIRD ECONOMIC POLICY PACKAGE

Jakarta, 23 Dhulhijjah 1436/7 October 2015 (MINA) – Indonesian government issued the third package of economic policy with emphasis on real economy sectors.

“Today, the government issued an additional policy, that is costs reducing,” said Coordinating Minister for economic affairs Darmin Nasution at a press conference at the Presidential Office on Wednesday afternoon.

Nasution added, There are two main points that will be conveyed by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning,” Antaranews quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

According to Nasution, the Policy of energy covering the fields of fuel oil, gas and electricity tariffs for industry.

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Sudirman Said stated, the  fuel price of Avtur, LPG, Pertamax and Pertalite would go down effectively on October 1, 2015.

The price of diesel fuel declined as much as Rp 200 per liter. So, the retail price now becomes Rp 6.700 per liter. Premium prices still remains Rp 7.400 per liter for Java, Madura and Bali, as well as Rp 7.300 in outside of the three islands.

While the price of gas for industries such as petrochemical, and ceramics will be reduced in accordance with the ability of their respective industries.

The decline in gas prices for industry will be effective on January 1, 2016.

The government has simplified the process of licensing, extension and simplification of licensing procedures for investors who wish to apply for a permit.

The Cabinet Secretary, Pramono Agung on the occasion said that the policy was taken to reform bureaucratic machine.

The announcement of economic policy package was also followed by the policy issued by the Financial Services Authority and Bank Indonesia.
