Indonesia Welcomes Election of France`s Youngest President

French President -elect Emmanuel Macron.

 

Jakarta, 12 Sha’ban 1438/9 May 2017 (MINA) – Indonesia welcomes the election of Frances new and world youngest president Emmanual Macron who is 39 years old, Antara News quoted foreign ministry spokesman Armanatha Nasir as saying here on Monday evening.

He said Indonesia congratulated the government and the people of France over the peaceful election.

“Indonesia congratulated Emmanual Macron who has won the biggest votes,” he said.

He said Indonesia hoped with Macron’s election bilatetal relations between the two countries would increase.

“We hope strategic partnerships between Indonesia and France could be further stepped up,” he said.

Emmanual Jean-Michael Frederic Macron who was born on December 21, 1977 won the election on Sunday with votes collected projected to reach around 65 percent.

The former civil servant, investment and pro-Europe politician defeated his only rival Marine Le Pen who garnered less than 35 percent.(T/RS5/RS1)
