Jakarta, MINA – Indonesia will build a new building for the ASEAN Secretariat and the groundreaking for the construction of the building will take place on Friday, January 5, in South Jakarta area.

As the host of the ASEAN Secretariat, Indonesia will play a total role in the construction of the 500 billion rupiah building.

“Later, most of the ASEAN meetings will take place in this building,” said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Armanatha Nasir in a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (4/1).

The man familiarly called Tata said that the old ASEAN Secretariat building located at Jalan Sisingamaraja, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, is considered to be no longer adequate. Both in terms of land and facilities. Therefore, Indonesia decided to provide a new building for the ASEAN Secretariat.

Last August, President Joko Widodo has handed over land and building certificates for the existence of the secretariat building.
