INDONESIA HAS GREAT POTENTIAL ON ISLAMIC TOURISM
Jakarta, 17 Rajab 1435/16 Mei, 2014 (MINA) – The Deputy of Indonesian Tourism Minister, Sapta Nirwandar expressed his optimistic in developing Islamic Tourism to attrack both foreign and domestic tourists.
The majority of Indonesia’s population are Muslim. They hold the principle of brotherhood. With their kind and hubble, Indonesia will succeed in tourism bussiness,” Sapta said as reported by Sharia Finance Center (PKIS) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) on Thursday.
Indonesia is the first country holds an international forum on Islamic Tourism among Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). This appointment based on the approval of the majority of OIC members
The event will be held on June 2nd to 3rd. Indonesia will invite 57 countries from of the OIC members and many domestic organizations. Some experts will give their speech in it.
The needs of Halal food and travel must be fulfilled. So, Islamic system should grow with the high demand.
Sapta also said, besides the great potential of halal food, Indonesia also has a variety of attractions as the destination. With the largest Muslim population in the world, Indonesia was in the fifth ranked as a country with the biggest world traveler.
“Indonesia should not be inferior to the Korean state which has been classified halal food and Islamic Tourism,” he added.
With the holding of the 1st OIC International Forum on Islamic Tourism, Indonesia will promote various tourist objects and is expected to establish cooperation among the OIC countries.(T/Nidiya/P04)
