Idrus Marham Appointed Acting Golkar Party Chairman

Jakarta, MINA – The Golkar Party Central Executive Board has officially approved Secretary General of Golkar Party Idrus Marham as Acting Chairman of Golkar Party replacing temporary Setya Novanto.

However the plenary meeting did not remove Novanto from the central executive noard (DPP), according to republika.co.id.

This is one of the outcomes of the Golkar Executive Board’s decision on Tuesday (21/11).

Chief Executive of the Golkar Party central executive board Nurdin Halid said Idrus Marham was appointed acting chairman until the pretrial process of Setya Novanto was completed.

“By combining the approach of conscience and public feelings and opinions, approve Idrus Marham as Plt ketum until the pretrial decision,” said Nurdin Halid as chairman of the plenary meeting when reading the decision of the meeting at the Golkar Party’s DPP Office, Slipi, Jakarta on Tuesday (21/11 )

Nurdin continued, the other four points agreed that if the pre-trial suit Setya Novanto accepted by the South Jakarta District Court, then over time also ended Idrus Marham’s position. as acting Golkar Chairman.

On the contrary, if the Novanto lawsuit is rejected in the pretrial process then Plt Ketum together with the Chief Executive holds the plenary meeting again. “To determine the next steps, to ask Novanto to resign from the General Chairman of the Golkar Party, then if he does not want to resign, then the plenary meeting decided to hold the Munaslub,” said Nurdin.

While the fourth point of the authority of Plt Ketum in carrying out its duties, especially those of a strategic nature, should be discussed together with the Chief Executive, Field Correctorator and General Treasurer. Finally, Nurdin said, the Plenary Meeting has decided the position of Setya Novanto will be decided next pending the pretrial decision of the House Speaker. “The position of Novanto as the House Speaker awaits pretrial decision, that is our conclusion,” said Nurdin.

The plenary meeting of the executive board of Golkar Party which started at around 13:30 pm was indeed quite tough. The meeting was held three times by the chairman of the meeting until then was cut at 21:15 pm.
