Hillary Clinton Will Win Presidency – NBC Map Shows

Washington, 13 Dzulqa’dah 1437/16 August 2016 (MINA) – Hillary Clinton has more than enough support to win the US presidency in November, the NBC News “battleground map” showed Monday.

The map, which shows states that are “likely Democrat” and “lean Democrat,” versus swing states and Republican-leaning areas, indicated that the final tally of electoral college votes for Clinton would be 288 – well over the 270 threshold needed to move into the White House, KUNA reported.

Every state is allotted a fixed number of votes in the electoral college, determined by population. For example, California has the most electoral college votes at 55, and has a long history of being a Democrat-voting state.

NBC News said its latest map update is based on “seven battleground-state polls last week – and seeing several other state surveys.

The map also shows that 174 electoral college votes would go to Republican nominee Donald Trump, mostly from the midwestern and southern states.

Another 76 votes remain a “tossup,” the map showed. (T/R07/R01)
