Gaza City, 26 Ramadan 1435/24 July 2014 (MINA) – Palestinian resistance forces say they have killed nine more Israeli occupation soldiers in retaliatory attacks against Israel’s invasion of the besieged Gaza Strip.

On Wednesday, the Israeli occupation military acknowledged three of the deaths in battles with Hamas fighters in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza early on Wednesday, putting the Israeli military death toll at 32.

However, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, said nine were killed there, meaning at least 60 Israeli occupation soldiers have been killed so far, Press TV quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting Thursday.

It added that they fighters destroyed a Merkava Mark IV tank in their battles and also fired rockets into Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area (Gush Dan), Shefela, Ashkelon, Palmachim, Bnei Darom, Ashdod, and Lod.

Meanwhile, code red sirens went off in Rehovot and Beit Shemesh near East al-Quds (Jerusalem).

According to Israeli media, the Iron Dome intercepted five rockets fired from the coastal sliver.

Iron Dome is a short-range rocket defense system designed to intercept rockets and artillery shells fired from a range of between four and 70 kilometers.

Since July 8, Israeli occupation warplanes have been hitting numerous sites in the Gaza Strip, demolishing houses and burying families in the rubble. Israeli tanks also began a ground offensive against the impoverished Palestinian land on July 17.

Latest reports say Palestinian resistance forces continue to inflict heavy losses on the Israeli army in retaliation for its deadly onslaught on the Gaza Strip. (T/E01/IR)
