Hamas Expresses Condolences on the Death of Sheikh Shiyam 

Gaza, MINA – Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, expressed its deep condolences on the death of Prof. Sheikh Mahmoud Muhammad Shiyam in Sudan on Friday Afternoon.

“We plead with Allah to accept him as a mujahid, a group of righteous people, and to give him mercy and forgiveness. “May God give patience and comfort to his family, his children, and the people he loves,” said Hamas in a statement.

Sheikh Shiyam, Imam of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the 1980s, died in a hospital in Sudan, after suffering a stroke.

The Hamas leadership said that the deceased was one of the best sons and a great leader, from the Khan Younis province in the southern Gaza Strip. Felesteen Online reports.

“Shaykh Shiyam is a great leader of Palestine, grieving from those who believe in what God promised. The fighters, some of whom have overtaken us, while some of them are waiting with istiqamah and will never change, “read the statement.

The statement said, Shaykh Shiyam was also a great scholar, Arabic writer, symbol of the Palestinian people, knights of the Palestinian struggle, Imam and Khatib Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Chancellor of the Islamic University of Gaza.

The statement added that the physically deceased had long suffered from asylum in bitterness in various countries. But he gave an example of patience, tenderness and fortitude. (T/Sj/P2)
