GAZA GOVERNMENT: EGYPT’S HAMAS BAN MEET ISRAELI IDEOLOGY

Gaza City, 5 Jumadil Awal 1435/6 March 2014 (MINA) – Palestinian Government is critically concerned over the Cairo Court of Urgent Matters’ ruling to ban Hamas activities in Egypt. This decision is aimed at all Palestinians and the Palestinian resistance in particular whereas it meets the occupation ideologies.

Government reaffirms that Egypt’s clichéd allegations of interference in Egyptian affairs are unfounded and mere fabrications, according to a press release issued by Palestinian Government in Gaza.

It stresses that such a ruling is typically political and shall mean Egypt’s abandoning of its historic role towards the Palestinian Cause, calling on officials of Egypt to revisit it.

ALRAY, Palestinian Media Agency quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting that the Palestinian Government in Gaza Wednesday held its weekly meeting No (331) and concluded with the following statement:

First: Rafah Crossing

Palestinian Government condemns the continued closure of the Rafah border crossing which has been unoperational for 26 days and calls on the Egyptian government to assume their legal and moral responsibility towards the thousands of patients, students and humanitarian cases stuck in Gaza.

Second: Israeli Escalation

Palestinian Government slams the Israeli military escalation killing two Palestinians in Beit Hanoun. This attack constitutes a stark violation of the November 2012 truce and a continuation of Zionist violations of terror attacks against the Palestinians.

Third: Amnesty International Report

Government appreciates the monitoring report issued by Amnesty International, which holds Israel accountable for war crimes perpetrated against the Palestinians during 2013, and calls on all human rights organizations to take the Israeli government to international courts.

Fourth: Jewish Calls to Break into Aqsa Mosque

Government denounces the repeated calls by extremist Jewish groups to intensify raids into Al-Aqsa Mosque in the coming few days . It calls upon Jerusalem people to be on standby to defend the holy place against these fanatics and appreciates the Arab League’s call to put an end to these violations.

Fifth: Sheikh Raed Salah

The government condemns an Israeli count issuing Sheikh Raed Salah an eight-month sentence and considers the verdict politically and racially motivated and an emphasis of the occupation policy toward the holy city of Jerusalem and its residents.

Seventh: Yarmouk Refugee Camp

Palestinian Government denounces the attempts to foil the agreement to neutralize the Yarmouk refugee camp from Syria’s crisis. It appeals to all militants to promptly cease the fire in the camp and commit to the previously signed agreement. The government reiterates the need to lift the siege imposed on the camp since mid-2013, which led to the deaths of over 114 Palestinians.

Eighth: International Women’s Day

Palestinian Government extends its gratitude and appreciation to Woman everywhere in the world and to Palestinian Woman in particular on the International Women’s Day which corresponds to March, 8th. It emphasizes the significant role that the Palestinian woman has been undertaking in the Palestinian struggle and affirms its full commitment to the empowerment of women and their representation in all government positions.
