Banda Aceh, MINIA – The Border Da’wah Forum (FDP) distributed 54 sacrificial animals to the Aceh-North Sumatra border region for Eid al-Adha 1447H/2026 on Wednesday.
The number of sacrificial animals distributed demonstrates the deep concern of Acehnese and Indonesian Muslims for the well-being of those on the border, especially given the rapid growth of converts to Islam.
Distributing sacrificial animals to minority Muslims along the Aceh-North Sumatra border has become an annual FDP tradition.
Zulkarnaini, the FDP’s Coordinator for Sacrificial Animal Distribution for 1447H, stated on Thursday (May 28) that in 2025, the FDP distributed eight cows, 52 goats, and sheep to 22 villages.

Zulkarnaini, a member of the PDF, said that in 2026, 54 sacrificial animals, consisting of 51 goats and three cows, were distributed to 14 villages.
Sacrificial animal donors include doctors, academics, traders, and people from nearly all walks of life.
The high level of interest among sacrificial animal donors to the Aceh-North Sumatra border and interior demonstrates the Muslim community’s concern for the plight of those living on the border, whose Islamic perspectives are somewhat lagging behind those living in urban areas.
FDP Chairman Dr. Nurkhalis stated that to date, at least 13 preachers have carried out their da’wah duties in Aceh; specifically in Southeast Aceh, specifically in Leuser District, and in Singkil, focusing on Banyak Island.

Previously, the FDP, along with Baznas, distributed gift packages to 20 Muslim converts in Aceh Singkil and Subulussalam, a week before Eid al-Adha 1447 H. []
