Fatah to Celebrate 48th Anniversary in Gaza

Fatah1        Gaza city, 26 Muharram 1434 H/10 December 2012 (Ma’an/MINA) Fatah will organize anniversary celebrations in the Gaza Strip to commemorate the 48th year since the party’s founding, a senior Fatah official in Gaza said Sunday.

Yahya Rabah told Ma’an that the celebrations would take place amid a positive atmosphere of reconciliation and the UN vote to upgrade Palestine’s status.

Last year, anniversary celebrations were banned by Hamas, who announced that all planned festivities would be canceled.

A special committee has started preparing for the celebrations, which will take place in Gaza City under the banner of “Statehood and Victory,” Rabah said.
