FATAH MEMBERS OF THE PLC TO ARRIVE IN GAZA TUESDAY

Gaza City, 18 Rabi’ul Awwal 1435/20 January 2014 (MINA) – Two Fatah members of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) will arrive in the Gaza Strip next Tuesday, in response to the initiation announced by the Palestinian Prime Minister, Ismail Haniyeh.

MP Majed Abu Shalamah and Alaa Yaghi will arrive in Gaza, in their first visit since 2007.

Abu Shamalah told Alresalah.ps as quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) that the visit aims to support the inter-Palestinian reconciliation.

The visit will take ten days, said Abu Shamalah. “We hope that this visit will bridge the gap between the two parties,” confirmed the Fatah official.

Resumption of reconciliation efforts came after Haniyeh declared that 2014 will be the year of reconciliation and maintaining the stabilities. Haniyeh also said he was ready to end the division with Fatah.

He also released from prison on Wednesday seven Fatah members as a goodwill gesture to Fatah.(T/P02/E1)
