Al-Quds, MINA – Hundreds of extremist Jewish settlers, escorted by Israeli police forces, stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday morning amid tight restrictions on Muslim worshippers’ entry to the holy site.
According to local sources, at least 460 settlers, including around 350 religious students entered the mosque compound in separate groups through the Maghariba Gate. The settlers toured the courtyards and listened to lectures from rabbis about the so-called “Temple Mount.” Some were also seen performing Talmudic rituals provocatively within the Islamic holy site.
At the same time, Israeli police imposed strict movement and entry restrictions on Palestinian worshippers at Al-Aqsa’s gates, preventing many Muslims from accessing the mosque for prayers.
Local observers condemned the incursions as part of ongoing attempts to alter the historical and religious status quo of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.[]
