Cairo, MINA – President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of the Republic of Egypt will participate in the BRICS Summit 2017, which will be opened by the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, in Xiamen, China, reported the Middle East News Agency (MENA).

The Egyptian President’s visit is at the invitation of the Chinese President to take part in the Summit of BRICS countries, including China, Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa.
BRICS has grown into an important platform for cooperation among emerging markets and developing countries.
Together, BRICS countries account for 26.46 percent of world land area, 42.58 percent of world population.
Following the BRICS Summit, the Egyptian President will head to Hanoi on an official visit to Vietnam, the first of its kind in the history of relations between the two countries.

According to Egypt’s Presidency, el-Sisi will hold meetings with senior Vietnamese officials to discuss bilateral relations and ways to boost them in various fields. (T/RS5/RS1)
