Al-Quds, MINA – Dozens of extremist Jewish settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem on Sunday morning under heavy Israeli police protection, while severe restrictions were imposed on Muslim worshippers attempting to access the holy site, PIC reported.

According to Palestinian media sources, at least 77 settlers entered through the Maghariba Gate and toured the mosque’s courtyards. During their visit, rabbis delivered lectures about the so-called “Temple Mount,” and a number of settlers provocatively performed Talmudic prayers in the eastern area of the compound.

Meanwhile, Israeli police tightened movement and entry restrictions at the gates of Al-Aqsa, preventing many Muslim worshippers from entering.

The mosque continues to face daily incursions by settlers and Israeli forces during morning and afternoon hours, except on Fridays and Saturdays.[]
