Champion in 2018, Indonesia to Host 2019 AARM

Jakarta, MINA – Indonesian National Army contingent successfully defended the general champion in the 28th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM) competition Malaysia in 2018.

They also broke the 2017 record in Singapore. At that time, they won 9 trophies, 31 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze. In 2018, the contingent won 9 trophies, 32 gold, 14 silver and 10 bronze.

Major General Eko Margiono said, this result is a provision for Indonesia to host AARM 2019 in Cipatat, Bandung, West Java.

Eko explained, the preparations have been made to the maximum extent. Likewise, the selection process has carried out for the contingents who will participate.

“These results certainly need to be maintained and prepared until hosting AARM-29 in Cipatat, Bandung. From 37 shooterse, we departed 12 new shooters. It was the first time,” said Eko, at Halim Perdanakusuma, East Jakarta, Friday.

He continued, in February or March 2019 a new shooter selection will be conducted again.

Meanwhile, in May it is expected to have formed with the existing core team,” he said.
