Arab League Condemns Israel’s Piracy of Palestinian Funds

Cairo, MINA – The Organization of Arab League Countries condemned Israel’s decision to freeze millions of dollars in tax funds to the Palestinian Authority.

“This decision is a continuation of Israeli piracy and the theft of funds and resources of the Palestinian,” the statement said on Monday.

It was said that the freeze was “a clear violation and violation of international commitments, and called on UN agencies to deal with this new Israeli aggression,” he continued, as reported by Anadolu Agency.

On Sunday, Israel decided to reduce around 502 million shekels (around Rp1.9 trillion) of tax funds which should be transferred to the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah.

Israel reasoned that the funds were paid by the Palestinian Authority to Palestinian families involved in attacks on Israeli targets.

Israel collects around $175 million every month in the form of taxes on Palestinian imports and exports on behalf of the Palestinian Authority.
