AL-QARADAWI WANTS TO BE MARTYRED AS YASIN
Gaza City, 2 Rajab 1434 / 12 May 2013 (MINA) – President of the World Federation of Muslim Scholars, Yusuf al-Qaradawi (87) expressed his hope to pass away as Ahmad Yasin, Gazan cleric, who died as martyred (Shaahid).
“I want to be a shaahid like Sheikh Ahmad Yasin who passed away in his noble struggle,” Al-Qaradawi said after visited the house of Ahmad Yasin in Olive District, Gaza, Friday (10/5).
In his visit to Palestine, the Egypt scholar spoke in Friday sermon in Masjid al-Umari, and gave a lecture at the Islamic University of Gaza
Mi’raj News Agency (MINA)’s correspondent in Gaza, Muhammad Hussain, reported that Al Qaradawi and Sheikh Yasin were very close friend.
“Sheikh Yasin had ever been to my house in Doha, Qatar,” Al-Qaradawi added.
Sheikh Yasin, Abdul Aziz Al-Rantisi as well as Khaled Meshaal was the founder of the movement of Harakat al-Islamiyah (Hamas) in 1987.
Despite physical disability, Sheikh Yasin was a leader of the intifada struggle against Israeli occupation.
