Banda Aceh, MINA – PT PLN successfully restored the 150 kV Pangkalan Brandan–Langsa electricity transmission network on Wednesday at approximately 1:30 PM local time.
This success marks the reconnection of Aceh’s electricity system to the main Sumatra grid, after it was previously isolated. News of the transmission network restoration circulated widely on social media Wednesday afternoon via an informational flyer. The transmission network was known to have been disrupted due to the collapse of several towers on the Pangkalan Brandan–Langsa section.
The Manager of Communication and TJSL at PT PLN’s Main Distribution Unit (UID) for Aceh, Lukmanul Hakim, confirmed the information. He stated that PLN officially announced the successful restoration of Aceh’s electricity on Wednesday at around 1:35 PM local time.
According to Lukman, the restoration process began with the activation of PLTU Units 1 and 2, followed by the operation of PLTU Nagan Raya Units 3 and 4. After the power plants were back online, electricity supply was channeled to 20 main substations, 558 feeders, and 15,717 distribution substations spread across the entire Aceh region.

He added that the normalization of the electricity supply was carried out gradually and with great caution to ensure the system runs stably and safely. PLN also requested support and prayers from the public so that the electricity restoration process in Aceh can proceed smoothly without obstacles.
“Further developments will be officially communicated through PLN’s communication channels,” said Lukman.[]
