IOF KIDNAPS MP KHALIDA JARRAR FROM HER HOUSE
Ramallah, 14 Jumadal Akhir 1436/3 April 2015 (MINA) – The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Thursday kidnapped Palestinian lawmaker Khalida Jarrar, a senior official of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, after a violent raid on her house in Ramallah city.
The information office of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that about 60 Israeli soldiers and intelligence officers broke into the house at an early morning hour in al-Ersal neighborhood and ransacked it for about two hours before taking MP Jarrar to an unknown place, Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
For his part, head of the Palestinian Prisoner Society Qaddoura Fares condemned the kidnapping of Jarrar as “an act of vengeance” against her refusal to yield to an Israeli military order issued months ago exiling her to Ariha (Jericho).
Fares stated in a press release that the Israeli occupation has no evidence to use it for the indictment of the lawmaker, which reflects its persistence in its war crimes against the Palestinians.
The Israeli occupation army had notified MP Jarrar on August 20, 2014 of its decision to exile her to Ariha city, east of the West Bank, at the pretext she was posing a security threat to the area and threatened to arrest her if she did not comply.
Jarrar, in turn, filed an objection against the exile order with the Israel military court near Beitunia town, west of Ramallah.
She also staged a sit-in at the PLC headquarters in Ramallah in protest at the military order.
Her detention increased the number of Palestinian lawmakers in Israeli jails to 16 prisoners. (T/P006/R03)
