TANAH ABANG CAN EXPORT TWO THOUSAND CONTAINERS OF INDONESIAN GOODS MONTHLY

Jakarta, 12 Rabi’ul Akhir 1436/2 February 2015 (MINA) – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said Tanah Abang market could export more than two thousand containers of Indonesian goods a month into the African market.

He emphasized the economic progress of the nation, including market products to the international world.

“Products of Tanah Abang market are from small businesses in the villages. Actually we just lack a connection. It is government’s task to build the connection, “he told reporters after opening the working meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and all the representatives of Indonesia, at the Foreign Ministry on Monday Feb. 2.

In his speech, Jokowi mandated Indonesian representatives around the world to intensify economic diplomacy that Indonesian products could be known worldwide.

” I told our diplomats, ambassadors and head of representation to focus on economic diplomacy because it can help our state deficit. We have a chance in the international market because we have a high, intermediate, and standards quality product,” he said.

According to him, Indonesia should be aware of the huge potential in the rich and diverse country. This has been the main focus for his lead in Indonesia.

“Indonesia has many quality products which can compete in the international market,” he added.

At the meeting, 132 representatives of Indonesia in oversee including ambassadors, consuls general and others presented at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss their work program in the coming years. (L/P009/R03)
