Islamabad, MINA – Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar affirmed that his country will continue to play its role in facilitating engagement and dialogue between Iran and the United States in the coming days.
In a statement on Sunday, published by the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan expressed hope that both sides would continue in a positive spirit to achieve lasting peace and prosperity for the entire region and beyond.
Pakistan also stressed the importance of both parties continuing to uphold their commitment to the ceasefire.
Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported, citing Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei, following the conclusion of the Iran-US negotiations, that the two sides reached an understanding on a number of issues.

However, there were still gaps in views on two or three important points, and ultimately the talks did not lead to an agreement.
He added that the path of diplomacy was not closed and remained a permanent means to safeguard his country’s national interests. []
