Jerusalem, MINA – Israel has banned five Palestinian media platforms for reporting on Israeli actions in occupied East Jerusalem, accusing them of “incitement,” according to Israeli media reports.
Citing Anadolu Agency, Israeli Defense Ministry orders targeted Alasima News, M3raj Network, Al-Quds Albawsala Network, Maydan Al-Quds and Plus Quds Network. None of the platforms reportedly operates offices in East Jerusalem.
Israel’s Channel 12 reported that Defense Minister Israel Katz signed orders designating the platforms as terrorist organizations, with the attorney general confirming there were no legal obstacles.
The outlets were accused of incitement for focusing their coverage on developments in East Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, the report said.

Following the order, Alasima News announced it would suspend all media activities until further notice. The four other platforms had not immediately commented.
In a statement, Alasima News described the move as part of a broader Israeli effort to suppress and silence Palestinian media.
“In a new step added to Israel’s record of repression and silencing, the occupation has banned the work of several Jerusalem-based news networks in an attempt to isolate Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, monopolize the narrative and prevent their news from reaching the world,” the statement said.
The outlet said it had been forced to halt operations but expressed pride in its work over recent years, adding that its main slogan has always been to keep Jerusalem at the center of the Palestinian struggle.

“Israel’s ban will not hide the truth. Silencing cameras will not silence Jerusalem. A narrative written in blood and resilience is stronger than any ban,” the statement added.
Israel’s right-wing government has intensified measures in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since taking office in late 2022.
Israeli authorities have also imposed strict movement restrictions on West Bank Palestinians at military checkpoints leading to East Jerusalem since Oct. 8, 2023.[]
