Washington, MINA – The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and its supporting warships have arrived in Middle Eastern waters, heightening concerns over a potential US strike against Iran, which has declared its readiness to retaliate against American aggression.
The carrier strike group and several guided-missile destroyers crossed into the Middle East region on Monday, according to officials operating under US Central Command (CENTCOM).
The Lincoln Strike Group has arrived in the area, US Central Command confirmed in a post on X, adding that the ships are “currently deployed to the Middle East to promote regional security and stability.”
Last week, US President Donald Trump stated that Washington was sending a “massive fleet to the region just in case.”

Trump has repeatedly threatened to intervene if Iran continues to target protesters, though nationwide demonstrations have since subsided. Iran maintains that the protests initially emerged organically but were later hijacked by agents allied with Israel and the United States.
Tehran has also threatened to “pull the military trigger” should the US military launch an attack on Iran.[]
