Gaza, MINA – The Civil Defense in Gaza announced Monday evening that it has been forced to suspend operations of 8 out of its 12 firefighting, rescue, and ambulance vehicles in the southern governorates of the Gaza Strip due to a complete depletion of fuel supplies,. Palestine Information Center reported.

With only four vehicles remaining in service, the agency warned that its ability to respond to emergency calls and humanitarian needs is now dangerously limited. This critical reduction in operational capacity threatens the safety and survival of hundreds of thousands of civilians and displaced individuals residing in shelter centers across the region.

The Civil Defense directly blamed the Israeli occupation for the deepening humanitarian crisis, citing the ongoing war and intensified blockade as the root causes. The organization renewed its urgent appeal to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and other international bodies to take immediate action to reopen Gaza’s crossings. This would allow the entry of essential fuel and supplies, enabling humanitarian agencies to resume their life-saving work.

The crisis follows Israel’s resumption of military aggression on March 18, 2025, ending a fragile two-month ceasefire that began on January 19. The Civil Defense also emphasized that Israel had consistently violated the ceasefire terms throughout its duration.
