Din Syamsuddin: Palestinian Problem Is Global Injustice
Jakarta, MINA – The Chairman of the Indonesia-Palestine Friendship Initiative, Din Syamsuddin said the problem in Palestine now is a form of global inadequacy commited by Israel.
This was conveyed when he attended the invitation of the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, Zuhair Al-Shun ahead of the speech of President Mahmoud Abbas at the UN General Assembly in New York on 27 September.
“What is happening in Palestine now is a global injustice. Therefore, Indonesia will continue to stand with the Palestinians against the injustice, “he said at the Palestinian Embassy in Jakarta, Monday (24/9).
Din Syamsudin said that Indonesian people from all religious groups and civil society always with Palestine and continue to fight to achieve Palestinian independence.
Ambassador Al-Shun asked for support from all interfaith leaders in Indonesia to continue to support the struggle of the Palestinian people to get what they aspire to is independence.
On the same occasion, the Middle East Director of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sunarko said, as always affirmed by the President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Indonesia’s decision to always fight for Palestine in our foreign policy is final, clear and firm. We will continue to help through various channels, ranging from diplomatic, economic and capacity building.
In his speech on September 27, 2018, Abbas is expected to oppose Washington, reiterating the need for an alternative peace plan, given the increasingly biased of US supporting to peace process in Palestine.
Palestinian Foreign Minister Riad Al Malki told the Maan news agency that the outline of Abbas’s speech would be similar to the proposal he made before the United Nations in February 2018, where he advocated an “international coalition” to replace the US as the main peacemaker to end the conflict with Israel.
