South Korea and North Korea to be Unified at 2018 Asian Para Games
Jakarta, MINA – South Korea’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Kim Chang-Beom said the South Korean and North Korean contingents will become the Unified as Korea at the opening of the Asian Para Games.
“South Korea and North Korea are lobbying to be able to perform at a number of 2018 Asian Para Games sports,” he told Mi’raj News Agency (MINA), Friday (9/21) in Jakarta.
Kim Chang Boem said the two nations are still discussing about what sports that would be followed by the unified Korean team. “Until now, we have not officially announced the sports branch yet,” he said.
He also explained, there is the possibility of table tennis being one of the sports that was followed by the United Korea team.
Before the 2018 Asian Para Games, Unified Korea managed to get attention at the 2018 Asian Games which took place in Jakarta and Palembang, South Sumatra, 18 August-2 September.
Unified Korea successfully won the gold medal in the 2018 Asian Games on the women’s 500 meter dragon boat.
The 2018 Asian Para Games will take place on 6-13 October 2018 in Jakarta and Bogor. The third event will be attended by disability athletes from 42 countries in Asia. (TL/ R04/P2)
