Jerusalem, MINA – Hundreds of Palestinians held the Friday prayer at the Bedouin community of Khan al-Ahmar, east of Jerusalem, in a show of solidarity with its residents who are fighting Israeli attempts to displace them and demolish their village.
Following the prayer, the worshipers marched towards the main Jerusalem-Jericho road, which passes near the village, to express their rejection of the Israeli move.
The protesters waved the flag of Palestine and chanted slogans condemning Israel’s attempts to demolish the village.

Palestinians have been holding regular support rallies at the village since Israel announced last month its intention to demolish it in order to build a Jewish settlement on its ruins.
Khan al-Ahmar residents have contested the Israeli plans in courts and are waiting for the Israeli High Court to give a ruling on their demand to stay on their land. (T/RS5/RS1)
