PM Najib Receives Courtesy Call From Al-Aqsa Mosque Imam

PM Najib shakes hands with AL-Aqsa Imam Sheikh Ekrima Said Sabri

Kuala Lumpur, MINA – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today received a courtesy call from Al-Aqsa Mosque Imam Sheikh Ekrima Said Sabri at his office in Parliament Building.

The meeting at 9 am lasted about half an hour, according to Bernama.

Sheikh Ekrima first visited Malaysia in 2003.

He was previously placed under house arrest by Israel similar to the action taken against Palestinian President Yasser Arafat.

In July this year, Sheikh Ekrima was reported to have been injured after performing prayers outside the entrance to Al-Aqsa Mosque when Israeli police tried to disperse protestors using force that saw at least 14 Palestinians injured. (T/RS5/RS!)
