MER-C, RRI to Cooperate in Campaigning for Construction of Indonesian Hospital in Myanmar
Jakarta, MINA – The Indonesian Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) and Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Jakarta, have agreed to cooperate in fund raising efforts for the construction of the Indonesian Hospital in Mrauk-U, Rakhine State , Myanmar..
The agreement was contained in a memorandum of understanding signed by member of Presidium of MER-C. Sarbini Abdul Murad and Head of RRI Jakarta, La Sirama, on Wednesday at the RRI building in Jakarta.
Based on the agreement, RRI will broadcast fund raising through its programs. The name of the program is “Movement Rp 50.000 per person for the planned Indonesian Hospital..
MER-C in return for the program will provide free medical assistance to RRI in various events during the course of the cooperation..
Previously, similar cooperation between MER-C and RRI Jakarta was also conducted on April 15, 2014 for the construction of Indonesian Hospital in Ga za which was officially launched on January 9, 2016.
La Sirama said, MER-C is a humanitarian organisation in the medical field which work for various communities in many countries.
Sarbini Abdul Murad said the cooperation is aimed at strengthening the relationship between MER-C and RRI because MER-C needs media partners, in performing its mission, especially to disseminate campaigns for the development of Indonesian hospital in Myanmar.
The construction of the hospital is estimated to cost Rp25 billion. Currently, donation funds that have been collected by the committee reached 12 billion rupiah.
He added that the hospital would be built on a land covering 7,000 square meters.
.In realizing the construction of the hospital, the humanitarian organization is working with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI).,
Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi will lay the cornerstone for the construction of the hospital in October.
