West Bank, 17 Dhulhijja 1435/11 October 2014 (MINA) – Until September 2014, there were 6,200 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli jails and detention centers, Addameer Association for Prisoner Support and Human Rights said.
The number of administrative detainees has gone up to 500, including 29 lawmakers, the association added in a report, according to Palestinian Information Center (PIC) report monitored by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA), Saturday.
According to its report, 18 Palestinian female prisoners are locked up in Israeli detention centers.
The number of child prisoners has been estimated at some 201, 23 of them are below the age of 14 and16.
There are also 351 prisoners from occupied Jerusalem, 100 others from the 1948 occupied lands and 384 from the Gaza Strip.
476 prisoners are serving life sentences and 463 are serving prison terms above 20 years.
15 prisoners are currently serving more than 25 years while 30 others have spent more than 20 years.(T/R04/P3)
