US DOING EVERYTHING TO SAVE ISRAEL: AMERICAN ANALYSIST

Washington, 4 Rabiul Akhir 1435/4 February 2014 (MINA) – An American political analyst, Mark Glenn said Israel is a “danger to world peace” and yet the Obama administration is doing everything it can to save this “abnormal and unhealthy” regime.

“The United States is basically doing everything it can right now to save Israel,” said Mark Glenn, co-founder of the Crescent and Cross Solidarity Movement. “Right now the world is coming to grips with the fact that Israel is an abnormal and unhealthy place”.

“It is a danger to world peace,”the activist said. Israel is also facing increasing pressure from around the world over its illegal settlement activities, according to Press TV report quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).

The European Union’s ambassador to Israel has warned that the Zionist regime would likely endure “increasing isolation” if peace talks with the Palestinians collapse.

His comments echo those made by US Secretary of State John Kerry, who is brokering the peace talks. Kerry warned last week that the boycott would expand if talks fail.

Glenn said the United State is not brokering the peace talks to “necessarily bring peace to the region,” but Washington is doing it for “the preservation of Israel.”

The US government is pressured to serve Israel’s interests due to the influence of the powerful Zionist lobby in the United States. The pro-Israel pressure groups actively work to steer US foreign policy in favor of Israel.
