Washington, MINA – Iran has once again become the primary target of US and Israeli attacks. This was the focus of discussions between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during their meeting at the White House in Washington on Tuesday, even as Israel’s aggression continues in the Gaza Strip.

Instead of discussing peace, the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to pressure Tehran and make it a primary target of attacks.

Following the approximately 90-minute meeting, Netanyahu stated that he and Trump share the same view regarding Iran, as reported by Anadolu on Wednesday.

According to him, Washington and Tel Aviv agree to ensure that the Islamic Republic never acquires nuclear weapons capability.

Beyond the Iran issue, the two leaders also discussed security developments in the Middle East, including the situation in Gaza and opportunities to expand the normalization of Israel’s relations with several Arab countries.

Before departing for Washington, Netanyahu had stressed that the Iran issue would be a top priority on his agenda with Trump. He believes that preventing the development of Iran’s nuclear program is part of Israel’s strategic interests and regional security.

On the other hand, Trump has repeatedly stated that his administration will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons, while still leaving the door open for a negotiated settlement if possible.

Meanwhile, Iran has consistently maintained that its nuclear program is for peaceful civilian purposes and has denied allegations of seeking to develop nuclear weapons.
