Three Days in Manila and Another Three Days in Davao for Rody

Davao City, Philippines, 28 Ramadan 1437/03 July 2016 (MINA) – President Duterte is set to fly in and out of Manila as he discharges his task as the highest official of the land.

“I understand he will be working three days in (Davao City) and three days in Manila,” his son and Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte said.

The President will reportedly hold office at the Malacañang of the South inside the Department of Public Works and Highways premises here in Barangay Panacan.

A satellite office has been established here as base whenever Duterte is in town.

The younger Duterte said he and his siblings, Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and brother Sebastian, are willing to help their father if he needs their help.

“We will just wait for his instructions, if he needs our help with regard to anything. Ready naman talaga kami, mga anak kami eh (We are ready, we are his children),” Paolo said.

But he pointed out that one thing he could not do is stay with his father in Manila.

“No, I cannot do that. I cannot leave my job as vice mayor here,” Paolo said.

 
Fear of Malacanang ghosts

On Thursday, President Duterte did not sleep in Malacañang on his first night after taking his oath as president, Philstar reported.

He reportedly opted to sleep at a hotel in Pasig City where he was billeted prior to his inauguration.

Duterte has repeatedly said he will not be staying in the presidential palace because it gives him the creeps due to reports that there are ghosts in the area.

After the inaugural ceremonies, Duterte immediately buckled down to work, holding his first Cabinet meeting in Malacañang.

He even met with leaders of the militant groups that held a rally at Mendiola that day.

In the evening, Duterte met with 500 families in Del Pan, Tondo and had dinner with them.(T/R07/R01)
