SWEDEN PROVIDES PERMANENT STAY TO SYRIAN REFUUGEES

       Ankara, 27 Shawwal 1434/3 September 2013 (MINA) –  Sweden government declared that it will issue the right of stay in the country to the refugees fled from the Syrian civil war and asked for asylum from the Swedish state. 

       Andres Danielson, the Chairman of Sweden Migration Office, stating that a new resolution concerning the situation of Syrian refugees has been taken by the Swedish state said that they will give permanent habitation permission to the Syrian refugees. Underlining the fact that the civil war of Syria is worsening and there is not a hope for a solution in a short time Danielson stated that the decision they take is appropriate to the international law.

       Danielson also stated that the families of relatives of  Syrian refugees numbered 8000 can also come to Sweden as well. 

       Stating that there is not any Swedish mission in Syria, Daniel expressed that Syrians can go to the closest Swedish mission and demand for permission to travel to Sweden. 

       It is recorded that the first country providing visa for the relatives of Syrian refugees. Anadolu media reported monitored by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA).

       Meanwhile, UN official reported on Tuesday (3/9) stated that around 6.2 million Syrians displaced, while two million more have been out of Syria.

       The UN refugee agency (UNHCR) said the wave of children, women, and men across the border increased nearly ten-fold in the last 12 months.

         “Syria has been a major tragedy in this century. This is a human tragedy unparalleled in history,” said UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Antanio Guterres, in a statement.

         On average, nearly 5,000 people fled to neighboring Syria every day. “If the situation continues to deteriorate, the number of refugees will increase and some neighboring countries may get political and economic instability,” said UNHCR envoy and Hollywood star Angelina Jolie.

        The ministers of Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey are the main host of Syrian refugees planed to meet UN officials in Geneva on Wednesday, They want to ask the increasing of international aid.

         The conflict in Syria that began with demonstrations demanding for democracy has turned into a civil war with a major Sunni-Shiite issue involving parties outside Syria. Until the end of August 2013 the death toll has reached 110 thousand people. (T/P04/P03)
