SUDANESE EVACUATES FROM YEMEN

Khartoum, 21 Jumadil Akhir 1436/10 April 2015 (MINA) – Sudan finally evacuated their citizens who are stuck in Yemen conflict, gradually using commercial aircraft, preceded by flying 280 Sudanese and foreigners from Europe since Wednesday (8/4).

“”They were flown using Saudi Airline flight from 10am through Jeddah airport,” reported by correspondent Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) in Khartoum, Sudan, Sidiq Mustakim.

The Secretary-General for the Affairs of Sudanese Working Abroad, the second evacuation fleet will continue on the same day by the Egyptian commercial aircraft that will carry 260 people, consisting of 200 Sudanese and 60 foreigners Europe

“It is important for the state to protect its citizens who are residing abroad, both the government and other NGOs,” said Sudan’s ambassador of Yemen, Haj Magid Mohammad Assayawar, who is also chairman of the Technical Committee for evacuation team in Yemen.

Haj Magid said, “Evacuation will continue in the next few days in order to maintain the safety of its citizens.”

Last week he said the number of Sudanese in Yemen was in the range of 4,000- 4,500 of whom 2,000 have expressed their desire to return to Sudan.

On March 25, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf coalition air strikes to position the Houthi rebels in Yemen as the beginning of military operations declared in order to protect the legitimate government of Yemen.(L/P008/R03)
