Sheikh Kiswani Warns of Judaization Projects Around Aqsa Mosque
Occupied Jeruslalem, MINA – Sheikh Omar Kiswani, manager of the Aqsa Mosque compound, has warned against an Israeli plan to encircle the Mosque with Judaization gardens and projects, especially after giving the Israeli cabinet’s Jerusalem committee jurisdiction over the so-called holy basin, PIC reported.
In remarks to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC), Sheikh Kiswani pointed to the size of Israeli violations taking place on Islamic mortmain land near and around the Aqsa Mosque, especially the construction of foundations for cable cars in the cemetery of Bab al-Rahma.
He said that there were different Israeli construction, demolition and bulldozing activities at the entrance to al-Yousefiya, in Bab al-Asbat area, near the Old City and at the southeastern wall of the Aqsa Mosque.
The Aqsa Mosque official affirmed that Israel would use the lands it seized at the Islamic cemeteries in Jerusalem and the adjacent lands for the construction of parks and projects for settlers and tourists, stressing that these cemeteries are Islamic mortmain property belonging to the Islamic Waqf Authority in the holy city, and the Israeli occupation authority has no right to make changes to them.
