Gaza, MINA – Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) teams participated today in a medical evacuation of several patients through the Rafah border crossing, as part of ongoing humanitarian efforts to secure treatment for cases requiring medical care outside the Gaza Strip, according to Wafa.
Seventeen patients, accompanied by 33 attendants, left the Strip from the PRCS’s Medical Rehabilitation Hospital in Khan Younis, heading towards the Rafah Crossing, in preparation for their transfer abroad to receive necessary treatment. The operation was carried out in coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO) and other relevant authorities.
The PRCS affirmed that its participation in medical evacuations stems from its humanitarian role in supporting the sick and wounded, and working to facilitate their access to medical services.
This is especially critical given the increasing pressure on health facilities within the Gaza Strip and the continuous need to transfer some cases to hospitals abroad.[]
