Jakarta, 4 Muharram 1436/28 October 2014 (MINA) – Saudi Arabia will become the honorary guest of Indonesia International Book Fair (IIBF) 2014 in Ge;ora Bung Karno stadium, Jakarta, Indonesia on November 1-9, 2014.

It was different from the previous event. “IIBF will not only introduce collections of books, but also introduce educational programs, arts, culture and tourism.

“IIBF will become culture diplomacy, “said Lucya Andam Dewi, Chairman of the Indonesian Publishers Association (IKAPI) in Press Conference at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday.

Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Mustafa Ibrahim Al-Mubarak at the press conference said the presence of Saudi Arabia as honorary guest in IIBF 2014 will strengthen relationship between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Education and Cultural Attache of Saudi Arabia to Indonesia and Malaysia, Zayed O. Al-Harethi said Saudi Arabia will provide various informations about their education and culture.

Saudi Arabia awared its strategic role of IIBF in Indonesia. As honorary guest, Saudi Arabia will present various interesting activities and distributing Al-Quran, Zam-zam water, and dates in the exhibition.

Saudi government will also bring ulema from Mecca and Madinah to deliever speech in the exhibition.

IIBF 2014 will be attended by 87 participants consisting of publishers, bookstore agencies, libraries, cultural and educational institutions, mass media, and other industries both in Indonesia and abroad.

IIBF 2014 will be participated by 11 countries, Indonesia Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Canada, Pakistan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.(L / P013/R05/P009/R03)
