EGYPTIAN GMJ: NO ARAB REVOLUTION WITHOUT AL-AQSA MOSQUE LIBERATION

Gaza City, 29 Rajab 1434/8 June 2013 (MINA) — Member of the Central Committee of Global March of Jerusalem (GMJ) in Cairo Mohammed Esmat Saifuldawla said that Arab spring will be meaningless without liberating Al-Aqsa Mosque from occupation, Al Resalah reported.

GMJ in Egypt was launched after Friday prayers from a mosque in Nasr City in Cairo, with the participation of Egyptian cabinet ministers, IMEMC reported as monitored by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA).

The event was held by youths from the Muslim Brotherhood and the Islamic movement in support of Jerusalem, and joined by Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Hisham Qandil, Minister of Culture Dr. Alaa Abdel Aziz, and Minister of Sports Farouk al-Amiri.

“We will never give up on Jerusalem which we consider as the capital city of Palestine,” said Alaa Abdul Aziz during the march, he stressed that the Jerusalem issue has united all the forces.

The Minister of Sports asserted that all ministers of Youth in the Arab world refuse the Israeli occupation and Judaization projects against Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Participants on the march left from Rabaa El Adaweya Mosque in Nasr City after Friday prayers, heading to the Unknown Soldier Memorial, then to the Cairo Stadium; where they staged an oratory festival attended by several political forces.

In Alexandria, a mass rally and an oratorical festival were organized at 4 pm.

For their part, Friday preachers in Egypt, during the sermons, dealt with the issue of the occupation of Jerusalem and the attempts to Judaize the holy city and Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling on the nation to support the Palestinian people and protect the Islamic sanctities.

Dr. Salah Sultan, secretary-general of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Egypt and Imam of Rabaa El Adaweya Mosque said “We will never recognize Israel”, calling for taking real effective steps to liberate the Palestinian land. (T/P02/P03)
