PRINCE TURKI SUCCEEDS PRINCE FAISAL AS SRMG CHAIRMAN

        Jeddah, 29 Rabiul Awwal 1434/9 February 2013 (MINA) – Prince Turki bin Salman has been appointed chairman of the Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG), succeeding Prince Faisal bin Salman who was recently installed as governor of Madinah province.
        SRMG’s Board of Directors on Saturday announced that the changes were approved in a board meeting last Thursday in Riyadh, according to Arab News report monitored by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA), Sunday .
        During the meeting, the board members acknowledged Prince Faisal’s efforts in leading to SRMG achieve several significant accomplishments during his stewardship for more than 10 years.
         SRMG is the holding company of Arab News, among many other subsidiary companies.
         Prince Turki’s term as chairman for the current session extends to April 30, 2015, the board said. The appointment will be put up for approval with the next regular General Assembly meeting.
          Prince Turki was born in Riyadh in 1987. He holds a bachelor degree in marketing from King Saud University and he is currently the chairman of Tharawat Holding Company.
         SRMG is a Saudi joint stock company registered in Riyadh. The group mainly publishes, prints, and distributes various publications.
         SRMG dates back to 1963 when the first company of the group, Al Madina Printing and Publication Company was founded. Al Madina Printing and Publication Company, later, called Saudi Printing and Packaging Company (SPPC). Hisham Hafiz was one of the founders of the company.
         Next, the company was established in London in 1978. Ten years later, on 5 July 1988. it was registered as a limited liability company in Riyadh and then, converted into a joint stock company in 2000.(T/P03/E1)
